How It Started

It all started with Simon Rouhana, an ambitious 7 year old in the Lebanese town of Bickfaya - the place where he discovered and started his journey into the world of jewelry. It was all fascination, drawings and peaking through jewelry shop displays in the beginning.

By the age of 12, Simon had set up a tiny working bench in his bedroom where he started learning, experimenting and building knowledge of the craft’s various disciplines. He recalls being exhilarated at hearing the school’s bell ring. He could only think about getting back home to work on his designs and models.

Lebanon’s civil war held him back from starting his own atelier at an earlier time. But this gave him an opportunity to travel and absorb. It also gave him time to introduce his brothers to the craft; something he always longed for, growing up surrounded by family - in a town and culture where family comes first. It was during this time, in 1978, where Rouhana Jewelry was founded.

Our Collections

The importance of balancing modern trends and the traditional craft is portrayed by the stories and methods behind our collections.

We still believe that the best products and ideas emerge when we use pencils, papers and conventional craftsmen's tools. The traditional techniques used by our team of master craftsmen gives each piece its distinct features; integrating beauty, originality and individuality.

We make what we love and we love what we do. We like to consider each crafted item as a masterpiece and not just an end product; thereby producing our exclusive designs at a limited quantity.

The progressing success in Lebanon, the Middle East, European & American market has made us more than just a team of designers and craftsmen - it has altered our perspective for the way we do things: with passion, poise, courage, vision and teamwork.
